More from Canada

\

Happy Thanksgiving weekend, everyone!  We enjoyed a homemade Thanksgiving dinner for two including curried butternut squash soup, roasted turkey breast, roasted brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and cranberry apple compote with spice candied nuts and vanilla ice cream!  Yum.

Here are a few more photos from our trip to Canada.  Enjoy!

Work It

It's been a busy week so apologies for the lack of posting.  I've been working on an interesting but time-consuming work project that is eating up my days and nights.  So I'll be posting more stuff in the next day or so!

In the meantime, here's a photo of Canandaigua Lake in NY that I took with my Yashica.  It's one of the Fingers Lakes and one of my favorite places to spend in the Summer and Fall.  But I wouldn't even mind kicking back there now in a cozy B&B.

Garden Stroll

Horsing Around

Here are some more photos from our mini-break last weekend.  The first two are of the Kern River.  It's pretty low at this time of year but in the summer it swells and becomes a popular spot for tubing.

We met some friendly horses at a corral at one of the trail heads near the cabin.  I would've brought treats for them had I known they'd be so friendly.

One of the gates we came across during our morning hike.  Mind you, this gate was made of wire and a stick...but we made sure to close it just in case the horses decided to wander up the hill.

More images over the weekend...

A Second Glance

I took this photo this past Autumn and didn't really think much of it but as I was going through all my images, I took a second look and really started to love it.  I'm digging the cool shadows.  Sometimes all it takes is a second glance.

A Foggy Day

While the East Coast got pummeled with an early snowfall, folks near the beach in Southern California were shrouded in fog.  Here's a photo of a set of steps at Torrance Beach aka "Rat Beach."  Incidentally, it's not named Rat Beach because of vermin but because it stands for "right above Torrance."

It's Been a Long Time

Okay, I'm officially ashamed of my lack of discipline.  Last year's resolution was to keep my blog going and I was totally motivated until I got busy.  But that's a poor excuse b/c everyone is busy.  Well, I guess it's never too late to make new resolutions so here goes...third time's a charm.  I'm officially resurrecting my blog.

Here's a picture I took in Palos Verdes.  I've been shooting a lot of landscapes and the neighborhood, with it unspoiled beaches and cliffs, is quite breathtaking.
